The fine print, kept short

Shmuckle (shmuckle.com) is a small handmade belt shmuckle shop. You can look around the whole site without logging in or telling us anything. This page explains what we collect when you do use the site, and why.
If you choose "Sign in with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never see your Google password. We use them to show who's logged in at the top of the page, to fill in the quote form, and so the maker knows where to email your quote. We keep you logged in for 30 days with a login cookie on your device that holds your name, email, picture link and how you signed in. Log out at any time to remove it.
We save your name, email address and password. Your password is never stored as you typed it: we keep only a scrambled, one-way version (a salted hash) that lets us check it, so nobody, including us, can read it. We don't check that you own the email address. If you type the wrong password several times, we note how many tries there were for that account, so we can make the next attempts wait; this is cleared when you log in. If you use "Forgot password", we email you a link that works once, for 1 hour.
Each time someone logs in or creates an account, we note their name, email, whether they used Google or a password, and the date, so the shop owners can see who has signed in.
We save your name, email, the shmuckle you picked, your message and the date, and email it to the maker and the shop owner so they can reply with a price.
We receive the name, email and message you type, so we can answer you. It's emailed to us and saved so the shop owners can find it later.
We count which pages are opened and how often each shmuckle's Request a Quote button is clicked, so we know what people like. These counts are anonymous: we record only the page or shmuckle and the date. We don't store IP addresses, we don't use cookies for counting, and we don't use outside analytics or advertising trackers.
Only to run the shop: to log you in, answer your quote requests and messages, and understand which pages and shmuckles get attention. We don't send marketing email unless you ask us to.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. A few services help run the site and handle data for us:
Quote requests and messages are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and keep track of orders. Accounts and the sign-in history are kept until you ask us to delete them. Visit counts are added up by day and can't be traced back to anyone.
You can browse without logging in. You can log out at any time, and you can remove Shmuckle's access in your Google account settings. To see, correct or delete what we have about you, including your account, email us and we'll take care of it.

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
